My Motivation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Dear Readers,

As Summer comes to a close, there is a hint of Fall in the air. The days are becoming shorter and the leaves are starting to turn. Pumpkin Spice lattes are here…yeahhh!! October and Breast Cancer Awareness Month has arrived. We are each called upon to bring attention to the disease that has touched most of our lives, whether it be oneself, a mother, a sister, an aunt, a grandma, a girlfriend, a wife, or a co-worker. Unfortunately, breast cancer has affected almost all of us. The American Cancer Society estimates that there will be about 266,120 new cases of invasive breast cancer, and 63,960 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS), which is early stage non-invasisve, diagnosed in the United States alone for 2018. Let’s all activate as a community to bring attention to this deadly and non-discriminanting disease.

In this month’s blog addition, I will be highlighting RavenPink Breast Cancer Awareness events around Los Angeles, as well as sharing the delicious health benefits of pumpkin,. While, another chapter in my journey as a Thriver, will take you on a ride with my favorite exercise workout, Spinning. Join the RavenPink movement this month to give back and be compassionate to one another.

My homage to Breast Cancer Patients,

You are Strong!

You are Beautiful!

You are Sexy!

You are Loved!
